Job Description
ILSC & Greystone College Melbourne, part of the ILSC Education Group, is a private college located in the heart of CBD. We provide English language training as well as and vocational courses (VET) in Marketing, Project Management and Business to international students living in Australia.
ILSC & Greystone College Melbourne seeks an enthusiastic Student Advisor to join our friendly and supportive team at our CBD campus. This position is a varied and challenging role and has plenty of opportunity for growth and development the international education industry.
The Student Advisor role is responsible for a variety of functions, such as:
Student AdvisingÂ
- Supporting students on-campus by advising on aspects such as cultural acclimatization and general academic issues
- Supporting student accommodation requests (i.e. Homestay and student residence)
- Providing a special duty of care for under-age students with regular check-ins
- Preparing for new student intake (ELICOS & VET)
- Facilitating academic and financial intervention and problem-solving (if required)
- Supporting agents by answering phone calls, responding to questions about current student status and providing course information
- Acting as a point of contact for walk-in students, conducting school tours and ensuring successful conversion
- Facilitating student extensions
- Issuing COEs and working with the school’s database system
Other
- Answering the phone, transferring calls and taking messages
- Helping students with questions and problems and/or leading them to the correct department
- Updating PRISMS site with relevant student information
- Assisting the manager & academic director with assigned tasks
- Supporting reception (if required)
- Attending general staff and team meetings and training sessions as assigned

Selection Criteria:
- Experience working in an international college and / or school
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Outstanding organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent technical skills (database, Microsoft 365, PRISMS etc..)
- AÂ passion for education and sensitivity to the cultural and language issues facing our overseas students
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a must
- Second language is a big plus (i.e. Korean, Japanese, Portuguese)
Work Hours:
Full-time (38 hours per week), Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am to 8pm.
This position is based at the Melbourne campus. It does not have a working from home option.
