General Description
The Associate Grader will be responsible for marking assignments complete/incomplete, providing feedback, awarding points according to rubrics, and other grading activities.
The successful candidate will be an experienced educator or practitioner, have subject-matter expertise in or adjacent to the relevant program topic, excellent time management skills, have a strong desire to help people learn, and an interest in online learning and education.
This work is flexible and remote. Compensation will be on an hourly or per-assignment basis.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Attend meetings to learn about assigned courses and to understand the scope and objectives for graders.
- Review the course content to learn the assignment requirements.
- Calibrate grading with existing rubrics and outputs from other graders.
- Mark assignments “complete/incomplete” in the learning-management system and provide feedback.
- Follow the prescribed process for instances of suspected plagiarism.
- Resolve grading related queries raised by the participants. Collaborate with other members of the learner experience team when necessary.
- Share insights from grading with other members of the learner experience team.
- Request corrections to rubrics when necessary, communicating with the Instructional Designer and Program Delivery Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in written English.
- A bachelor’s or higher degree in a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a related field and/or demonstrated subject-matter expertise
- Experience with providing timely and effective written feedback on assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an educator of global learners or practitioner on a global team with an understanding of the difference in feedback expectations across different cultures.
- Experience as a practitioner in one or more of the following:
- Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning
- Healthcare
- HR Leadership
- Digital Transformation
- Finance
- Sustainability
- Cybersecurity
- Fluency in additional languages to English, including Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Arabic is desired.
