Production Location Manager Kenya

Site Leadership and People Leader
• Responsible for the financial performance of the country operations. This includes CAPEX and OPEX planning and execution.
• Project leadership and accountability.
• Work force planning, performance management, career development, Compensation and rewards management.
• Plant set up and management of transition into new site.
• Factory leadership from sourcing of direct materials, indirect materials, plant maintenance.
• Management of COGS through prudent management of field production, contractor negotiations, waste elimination through lean sigma principles.
• Leader of productivity optimization through focused improvement.
• Plant capacity planning & utilization leadership through end-to-end supply chain leadership.
• Supports manufacturing needs by coordinating materials planning, production planning and scheduling, supply chain risk mitigation and managing inventory operations
• Key objective is converting forecast into the production plan while managing inventory levels, filling and component capacity, and customer service.
Field Production Management.
• Leads the production operations in the field.
• Grower contracting, grower base expansion, grower capacity building and relationship management.
• Field excellence management focusing on yield improvement, seed quality management in the field.
• COGS optimization.
• Seed end to end quality assurance ensuring 100% genetic purity pass rate and physical purity.
EHS and Quality leadership.
• Global EHS standards implementation for the Kenya site.
• Creates and supports live safely culture in the site operations. Demonstrate and promotes safety culture at all times.
• Accountable for safe and timely delivery of quality supply based on production plans/schedules while maintaining operations efficiency.
• Leadership in all QMS processes.
• CAPA management for the site
• Ensure values of the company are embedded in the culture of the site including safety, respect, environmental stewardship and high ethics.
• Provide oversight of timing, flow and seed handing techniques to ensure quality plan standards are met.
• Compliance management for all statutory requirements for a production facility in Kenya
• Takes overall accountability and responsibility of management of occupational safety, Health, security, and environment for the production and supply chain function in Kenya
Warehouse and Inbound Logistics
• Provide oversight on WMS receipts & issues to factory operations. •
• Appraise the business on ageing analysis. Enforce policies on storage, shelf life and stocks integrity.
• Drive performance management of WMS KPIs.
• Ensure product integrity and inventory accuracy.
• Efficient tracking of shipments from country of origin to sea and air clearance and final delivery of product to different offloading points.
• Cross boarder clearance, transport and delivery of express shipments
• Ensuring proper and relevant customs documentation is in place to ensure timely clearance of shipments.
• Ensuring timely loading- and tracking of both air and sea freight shipments.
• Controlling and monitoring supply logistics to required delivery points as per demand plans.
